SUBLU Opens: The Terrace That Redefines the Concept of a Rooftop by the Sea
A hospitality design project where Made in Italy furnishings, sustainability, and views of the Golfo Paradiso transform a panoramic terrace into a new destination on the Ligurian Riviera.

When a Terrace Becomes a Destination
For a long time, hotel terraces were simply exclusive spaces reserved for guests. Today, they are taking on a completely different role. Increasingly, they are becoming spaces open to the city, where architecture, interior design, gastronomy, and the landscape come together to create an experience that extends far beyond the guest’s stay. This is the direction also taken by the Sublimis Boutique Hotel in Camogli, an “Adults Only” boutique hotel that recently joined the WorldHotels Elite , which is launching SUBLU , the new redesign project for its panoramic terrace overlooking the Golfo Paradiso.
A New Place to Experience Camogli
Housed in a 19th-century villa overlooking the sea, the Sublimis Boutique Hotel features just 21 ocean-view rooms—an intimate setting that helps maintain the relaxed, cozy atmosphere that defines the property. With SUBLU, the experience is taken to the next level. The terrace, open not only to hotel guests but also to the general public, provides a setting for various moments throughout the day: from breakfast to sunset drinks, right through to dinner. This approach reflects one of the most interesting trends in contemporary hospitality: transforming hotels into places for gathering and socializing, capable of engaging with the local community rather than remaining spaces exclusively dedicated to guests.

Design that Blends with the Landscape
The project covers approximately 210 square meters and seats about 40 people.
The project, developed by the Design Office of BWH Hotels , deliberately adopts a minimalist aesthetic.
The lines remain subtle, ensuring that the view of the Golfo Paradiso always takes center stage, while a color palette of beige, cream, and light blue evokes the colors of the Ligurian coast.
The result is a space that does not compete with the landscape, but rather becomes a natural extension of it.
The Value of “Made in Italy”
One of the most interesting aspects of the project is the choice of furnishings.
Sofas and armchairs are designed by Pedrali , an Italian company internationally recognized for its contemporary design and manufacturing quality.
The polypropylene rope weaves evoke the world of boating, while the soft shapes help create a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
A choice consistent with a project that focuses not only on aesthetics, but also on the durability of the materials and the quality of Italian manufacturing.
Sustainability as Part of the Project
The redesign of SUBLU also incorporates an environmental component. The fabrics used are Oeko-Tex and Greenguard Gold certified, while numerous elements are made from recycled and recyclable materials. Greenery also plays a key role in the design. The selected plant species, developed in collaboration with Peirano Vivai ensure privacy for guests without obstructing the view of the sea. When evening falls, the lighting designed by Faro Barcelona helps create a soft, subdued atmosphere that naturally accompanies the transition from aperitif to dinner.

More than just a rooftop
SUBLU represents one of the trends that are redefining high-end hospitality. It is not just a rooftop with a panoramic view, but a space that showcases the local area through design, cuisine, and connections. This philosophy views the hotel as an open, vibrant, and shared space, where the view becomes an integral part of the experience.
The Final Note
Panoramic terraces are no longer simply the best place to view a landscape. More and more often, they are becoming the destination in their own right. With SUBLU, the Sublimis Boutique Hotel demonstrates how a well-crafted interior design project can transform an outdoor space into a new landmark for experiencing Camogli, from the first coffee of the morning to the last cocktail overlooking the sea.

In the contemporary hospitality scene, there are projects that do more than simply welcome guests; they build real ecosystems in which architecture, landscape, agricultural production and the culture of the land become part of the same narrative.
