MLE RADAR — ISSUE 05

Four projects explore new ways of living: from the bedroom conceived as a total design concept to the preservation of historic spaces, from the rediscovery of clay to the “Longevity Ready” home, where design and well-being come together.

NEW WAYS OF LIVING

From the bedroom conceived as a total design concept to the Longevity Ready home: four stories illustrate how the way we design the spaces we live in is changing.

“A home is no longer just a series of rooms and functions. Contemporary design increasingly tends to view it as a system in which furnishings, materials, light, well-being, and memory all contribute to creating an experience.”

In this new issue of MLE RADAR, we’ve selected four very different projects that are united by a single question: How is the way we live changing?

Nilufar Edition — Signature Bedroom by David/Nicolas: The Bedroom as a Total Design Project

NILUFAR — THE ROOM BECOMES A TOTAL PROJECT

The bedroom is no longer just a collection of furnishings, but a cohesive design. With the new Signature Bedroom designedby David/Nicolas for Nilufar Edition, each element is crafted to interact with the others and create a complete space.

Beds, storage units, seating, and accessories thus define a domestic landscape in which function, materials, and proportions speak the same language.

Elizabeth Unique Venice — Contemporary art and design come together in Venetian interiors.

ELIZABETH UNIQUE VENICE — LIVING AMIDST HISTORY

In Venice, in a 17th-century palace in Cannaregio, the new Elizabeth Unique Venice bridges the gap between history and contemporary design.

Pianca Contract and Cristina Celestino work with the existing structure without reducing its history to mere decoration: materials, colors, and furnishings create a new narrative layer, while allowing the building’s original identity to remain evident.

From the Ground — Clay as a Subject of Research in Contemporary Design.

FROM THE GROUND — DESIGN RETURNS TO THE EARTH

At the Circolo del Design in Turin, “From the Ground” brings attention back to one of the oldest materials: clay.

Twelve designers explore its possibilities, limitations, and transformations, demonstrating how a primordial material can become a field of contemporary research. An exploration that focuses on design, territory, and resources even before it addresses objects.

Visionnaire × The Longevity Suite — Longevity Ready Home: Well-being Becomes Part of the Living Experience.

VISIONNAIRE × THE LONGEVITY SUITE — MAKING YOUR HOME LONGEVITY-READY

Well-being is incorporated into the project even before it becomes a service. The collaboration between Visionnaire and The Longevity Suite gave rise to the concept of the Longevity Ready Home, a housing model in which interior design and the principles of longevity are integrated from the very beginning of the design process.

Circadian light, air and water quality, materials, and physiological comfort become integral parts of residential architecture. It is not technology added to the space, but a different way of thinking about the home: not just a place to live, but one capable of enhancing the quality of the time we spend there.

Not everything that happens.

Things worth keeping an eye on.
